→ A brilliant book on a subject few Heathens have explored January 7, 2013 By Wyatt Kaldenberg Heiden Hexology, Essays and Interviews is a collection of essays and journal entries by Hunter Yoder. This is a brilliant book on a subject few Heathens have explored: Hexology or the study of Germanic Hex art. Mr. Yoder studied the barn hex art of his native Pennsylvania Dutch heritage and tied it into modern-day Heathendom. He connects Hex Signs with runic magic, a craft known as Hexerei. One thing I found interesting is he discovered the Black Sun symbol throughout the old Pennsylvania folk art, therefore, disproving the myth spread by idiotic sources such as the crackpot History Channel, Wikipedia, and various occult conspiracy theorists that the Black Sun symbol was a creation of the Third Reich. The Black Sun is a very old symbol of the Germanic people. A welcomed extra is the numerous photos of Hex Signs. I am very pleased with this book. It taught me things I didn't know about my Heathen faith.
